US Secretary of State is planning to call for restoration of
negotiations between Israel and Palestine, according to a report by the
news agency AFP. According to the report, the request will be made on
stage during a fundraising conference to rebuild Gaza conducted in
Cairo.
During the conference, Kerry will also meet
Abu Mazen for a personal conversation. “You will hear the secretary
reaffirm the commitment of the United States to helping the parties
achieve a negotiated two-state solution and our willingness to re-engage
in the negotiations and help facilitate successful negotiations said
the state senior.
Kerry will arrive alongside 30 other diplomats, including UN Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon. The conference’s goal is to raise money from countries around the globe to aid in rebuilding the Gaza strip after operation “Protective Edge”.
American officials stated that they are not even near the funding goal set at 4 billion dollars by the Palestinian authorities.
